Plateau State: Church Pastor Among Five Victims in Plateau State Attack

In a tragic incident, a pastor and four others were killed in Nchya village, Mangu Local Council, Plateau State. Following the incident, locals transported the victims’ remains to Mangu town, triggering a mass protest.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Plateau, Alfred Alabo, is yet to be fully briefed about the circumstances of the attack.

Earlier on July 29, 2023, two individuals were killed in Angware by kidnappers. However, the discovery of five more bodies on the outskirts of Barkin Ladi Local Council has deepened the crisis. Among the deceased were Agada Ambo of Zangam village and one Azi from Kayarda, who were both involved in a ransom payment for a previous kidnap victim.

In a separate incident, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Special Forces rescued six women and a man from kidnappers near Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State. The victims were taken to a NAF Medical facility for assessment. Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, praised the troops and urged for increased efforts to rid Kaduna and surrounding areas of terrorists, kidnappers, and other criminal elements.
