Edo Police Arrest Suspected Fulani Criminals in Kano Following Kidnap Ransom Collection

Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have apprehended four suspected kidnappers in Kano following an extensive investigation. The suspects, identified as Aminu Sadio (24), Umar Aminu (22), Adamu Abubakar (30), and Adamu Tahir (30), were accused of kidnapping victims in Fugar, Etsako West local government area of Edo State.

The arrests were made after the police received a report of the kidnapping of four individuals in Fugar on January 23, with subsequent ransom payments allegedly made through Union Bank and Moniepoint. Utilizing intelligence-based techniques, the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the Edo Police Command tracked the suspects to Kano state.

During the course of the investigation, Aminu Sadio and Umar Aminu, who were identified as the owners of the bank accounts used for ransom transactions, were apprehended. Additionally, Adamu Abubakar and Adamu Tahir, believed to be accomplices in the kidnapping scheme, were also arrested.

The Edo Police Command remains vigilant and proactive in addressing  criminal activities, urging continued cooperation from the public in providing essential information to aid ongoing investigations.
