Legal Teams Overhauled Ahead of Nnamdi Kanu’s Alleged Treason Trial

In the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), both the prosecution and defence have made changes to their legal teams.

The prosecuting team is now under the leadership of Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), taking over from David Kaswe, a lawyer with the Federal Ministry of Justice. On the other hand, the defense team is currently being led by P. A. M. Ejiofor, who replaced Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

Kanu, currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), was brought to court this morning in preparation for the start of proceedings.

Amid tight security measures at and around the court premises, a significant number of lawyers, individuals resembling Igbo traditional leaders, the defendant’s family members, and other supporters were present.
