Croak’s journey in the tech industry began in the 1980s when she joined AT&T Bell Labs as a software engineer. It was during her time there that she played a pivotal role in the development of VoIP technology, which allows voice communication over the internet, marking a significant shift from traditional circuit-switched networks.
