Olubadan Stool not in Contention- Oyo Governor Makinde

The Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has confirmed that the Olubadn royal stool is not under contention contrary to rumours. He urged those peddling the unhealthy rumour to desist for the interest of peace in the state.

Makinde stated this whilst hosting visitors, including members of his cabinet council, at his Ikolaba residence in Ibadan. Though he stated that he was yet to receive information from the Kingmakers on nominations for the stool, he enjoyed everyone to remain positive

Kingmakers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, had fixed Thursday, 11th April as the date for the official ratification and announcement of the current Balogun of Ibadanland, Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.

According to daily posts, the Ibadan kingmakers who are the eleven High Chiefs and members of Olubadan-in-Council, made this decision at a meeting held on Monday at the Iwo Road residence of a former President of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Bode Amao.
