Iwo Monarch kicks against State Policing, as British Press Exposes his Shocking Criminal Past in America

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi has “cautioned” the Nigerian government against accepting state policing, stating that “such an inimical proposal is capable of undermining the exclusive legislative power of the Federal Government on security.”

According to reports by DailyTrust, the Iwo monarch, would rather the government recruit more police officers and improve their welfare package.

Speaking through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, yesterday Monday, the monarch painted a scenario of possible misrule by autocratic state governors misusing power, plus state agitators instigating a possible civil war against the federal government

“Policing is on the exclusive legislative list of the Federal Government. Creating a state police will destabilize the existing tranquillity and cooperation existing between and among the Nigeria States authorities.”

“Most state authorities are known for flouting the order of the federal government. Exclusive affairs will be abused by Governors with autocratic tendencies. Nigeria is not ripe for state policing.

“I implore the federal government to recruit more police personnel and improve their welfare package. This, if done, will fortify the Nigerian Police Force and bring sanity to the policing,” the statement read in part.

As Nigerians from the Christian south and middle belt struggle with outrageous theft of their resources by alleged highly placed government officials, inexplicable insecurity rumoured to be intentionally manufactured and chronic levels of maladministration inherited from the Buhari administration- observers are now wondering if Oluwo,s utterance is clear evidence that the criteria for monarchy selection in Nigeria, may possibly be fatally flawed, requiring an urgent need for immediate and complete overhauling
