Nigerian UK Based Youtuber Emdee Tiamiyu allegedly Arrested for £160K Fraud

Emdee Tiamiyu, a UK based Nigerian Youtuber has been arrested for allegedly defrauding the UK government. In a video circulating online, Tianmiyu an Ogun state student who went on UK national TV, the BBC, months ago, to humiliate Nigerians of abusing UK student visa schemes by using it to truck families from Nigeria into the UK, is reportedly in UK custody for fraud charges

Recall Tianmiyu was on the BBC telling the world that Nigerians pretentiously obtain UK student visas in Nigeria under the guise of studying but with the ulterior motive of using the student visa to emigrate entire families from Nigeria to the United Kingdom.

Shock and outrage were the feelings of Nigerians both home and abroad who felt betrayed after Tianmiyu’s interview. He on the other hand was said to have received £160,000 from the UK government to help him resettle in the UK presumably after claiming asylum because of the offensive BBC interview

Tianmiyu was eventually discovered to have built a house in hometown Ogun state using the supposed settlement fund from the UK government may struggle to give convincing explaintion to the authorities

The British government is yet to give an official statement on the issue, but whatever the outcome he may likely spend years behind bars with possible further negative implication to the Nigerian UK community, and more so the Nigerian image worldwide
