Niger State: Terrorists Kill 30 Vigilantes as their Identities Strangely Remain Hidden

  • Tribal origins of the terrorists remain unknown
  • The attack questionably coincides with the farming season
  • Police is yet to brief Nigerians on who the terrorists are and how they got into Niger state
  • Nigerians fail to unite across tribal lines to demand answers from current asorok occupiers

Terrorists, whose identity remain a mystery, brazenly launched a calculated attack against Dogon-Dawa community in Mariga LGA of Niger State, past Saturday, killing over 30 “Yan Sa Kai’ vigilante young men. The vigilantes were said to have been trailed and ambushed as they tried to repel the fleeing terrorists.

According to Daily Trust, the chairman of Mariga Local Government Area, Abbas Kasuwar Garba, stated he was not sure about the final death toll and also added to that the relative peace the community enjoyed has been disrupted including farming activities.

He said, “Before this latest incident, we had been enjoying relative peace and we are happy that our farmers would be able to return to their farms this year after being denied access to farming for the past few years.

“But with this development, we are not happy, but the government will take action. I want people to be calm.”

The Niger Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Wasiu Abiodun is yet to give a public press statement.

As the sinister killings of Nigerians contiue unabated, even with a supposedly elected government seated in asorok, observers are wondering when the suffering Nigerian masses will come together and call for change
