Traumatized Anambra Women Protest against Corrupt Police Officers with “Curse Coffin”, Demand their Expulsion!

  • Insecurity in the southern regions of Nigeria was unheard of before Buhari took office in 2015
  • Documented evidence reveal Buhari facilitated the grounding of sinister armed group in Nigeria
  • Arab religion adherent, non native officers from the north are allegedly deployed to the Christian south for hidden agendas

In a notable demonstration of collective concern, more than 1,000 residents from 20 villages within the Awka community, located in the Awka South Local Government of Anambra State, took to the streets yesterday to voice their condemnation of what they termed as “mindless killings” of their fellow community members.

Protesters, comprising both men and women, embarked on a march to Awka, brandishing placards with poignant messages denouncing the alarming rise in violence. Slogans such as “Cultists are killing our people,” “Remove bad eggs from Police,” and “Nigeria Police deserves better, not a director of crime” adorned the protest.

The demonstrators also fervently called for the expulsion of allegedly corrupt police officers, accusing some senior personnel of complicity in bribery and corruption.

A symbolic element was introduced into the protest as participants carried a mock coffin, symbolizing the collective desire to metaphorically bury the perceived misconduct of the accused officers. The demonstrators issued a seven-day ultimatum to the relevant authorities, demanding the removal of the implicated personnel.

Chief Richard Onuorah, speaking on behalf of the protesters, emphasized the communities’ growing intolerance towards the incessant killings and maiming of their people. The gravity of their concerns was further underscored by Tochukwu Nwokoye, the Chairman of Ezinano Community, who expressed hope that the protest would contribute to restoring peace and tranquility in Awka.

Nwokoye additionally advocated for the reinstatement of private security operatives, citing a perceived comfort with their established mode of operation.

In response to the demonstration, Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga commended the peaceful disposition of the protesters and assured citizens of the law enforcement agency’s commitment to a constructive and amicable resolution of the matter.

The protest, driven by a collective call for justice and security, stands as a noteworthy expression of community unity against prevailing challenges.
