Wunmi, wife of late singer Ireoluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad,, is embroiled in a lingering controversy that does not seem to be going away anytime soon. After the passing of Mobad, rumours both online and offline have been making the rounds alleging that the late singer’s son, Liam, is actually fathered by Lagos monarch Oba Elegushi
The disturbing rumours gained momentum when influencers with high fan base began insinuating online that the monarch is the true father of Mohbads son, Liam.
German based Abosede comfort Ilesanmi and UK based Olubukola Jesse popularly known as Bukky Jesse are amongst the frontline TikTok users calling the monarch the true biological father of Mohbads son
It is not known where or how these influencers got hold of their information but the finger pointing seem to have intensified after numerous suggestions of DNA test to confirm paternity of said child was turned down by Mohbads wife, Wunmi
Added to this, the monarch at the centre of the controversy, Oba Elegushi, is said to have now filed complaints to the police, against the social media users peddling the alleged false information
In a statement issued yesterday by his media consultant, Lambert and Curtis and signed by Deyemi Saka, the monarch disassociated himself from the paternity accusations, calling it both false and wicked insinuations
The statement reads: “We are the media consultant to the Elegushi Royal Family and we will like to respond to a new desperate attempt at dragging His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi to the needless paternity dispute over the son of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as ‘Mohbad.’
The widely syndicated falsehood was promoted by some persons with the under-listed profile on the social media app, TikTok namely: Oloriebimusicproduction2; PEKINS RULES, and WESTO4LIVE “
Also the same falsehood is being promoted by: ‘Auto Success Ola,’ Olubukola Jesse; ‘Teni Omo Ologo’ and, Tolani Ilesanmi.
“First of all, this is to inform the public that the allegation is false and a figment of the wicked imaginations of these persons.
“Secondly, HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi through his lawyers have filed a petition against these persons with the Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies to enforce his fundamental human rights and protect him from cyber bullies, while he is hopeful the Police will collaborate with relevant international security organisations in this quest for redress.
“Thirdly, it must be stated emphatically that Oba Elegushi just as many Nigerians are saddened by the sudden demise of Mohbad, demanded for a thorough investigation and a quick dispensation of justice.
“While we pray to almighty God to grant the Alobas the immense strength to bear this painful loss, we urge people to refrain from dragging the integrity of His Royal Majesty Oba Saheed Elegushi and the revered traditional institution he represents into public disrepute.”
