Imo Guber 2023: Police Ban Ebubeagu Security Personnels amid Suspicions of Rigging Plots

In preparation for the upcoming Imo State gubernatorial election on November 11th, the police has banned Ebubeagu, the regional security outfit set up by the governors of the eastern region

Additionally, restrictions on vehicular movement and transportation via waterways in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states would be imposed. These restrictions encompass various modes of transportation, including canoes, barges, and both small and large boats.

The decision to limit movement through waterways is part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance security and prevent any potential disruptions during the elections., police stated

To effectively address the unique geographical challenges posed by the riverine terrain of the three states, police will be deploying marine and gunboats.

By implementing these measures, the authorities aim to create a secure environment where citizens can exercise their right to vote without any hindrance, ultimately upholding the democratic values of the nation.
