In recent developments surrounding the controversial death of hip hop artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba made significant rulings on Monday. The court extended the remand of auxiliary nurse Fisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, who were arrested by the police in connection with the singer’s demise.
Ogedengbe, alleged to have administered injections to Mohbad, remains in custody alongside Sadiq.
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s former boss, Azeez Fashola, widely recognized as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, were granted bail by the magistrate. The bail was set at N20 million each, with the condition of three responsible sureties in like sum.
One of the sureties is required to possess a landed property. Additionally, as part of the bail conditions, both defendants must surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
During the proceedings, the magistrate emphasized the seriousness of the matter, warning against any attempts to contact her directly regarding the case. She stated that such attempts would be documented and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.
The legal process continues, with the investigation still ongoing. The case has been adjourned until November 29 for further advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution.
