Fulani Invaders Unleash Abduction Terror on Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, Leaving Dozens in Distress

  • Residents recount foreign-speaking Fulani terrorists blocking major highways

In a recent incident along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway near Katari, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a group of Fulani terrorists abducted over 85 individuals, including both travelers and residents, between Thursday and Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Tragically, more than four residents lost their lives during the attacks. The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed a terrorist attack at Dogon Fili near Katari and acknowledged a fierce gun battle with the terrorists, resulting in injuries to several travelers caught in the crossfire.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, the injured individuals include Jibrin Tasiu (27), Jummai Abubakar (20), Zafira Abubakar (11), AbdulKarim Nurudeen (two), Chinedu Jerry Moneke (37), and Ayo James (42). These victims were promptly rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Contrary to official statements, local reports suggest that over 30 travelers were abducted in the area. Additionally, another group of Fulani terrorists abducted 55 individuals from Badoko, Dudumishini, and Kwakware villages.

The District Head of Bishini, Yohana Sarki, called for increased security presence, acknowledging the challenges faced by villages despite existing military deployment. Residents emphasized the need for enhanced vigilante support and government efforts to equip local forces in complementing security agencies.

Amid the prevailing security concerns, residents recount foreign-speaking Fulani terrorists blocking major highways, leading to the abduction of travelers and attacks on surrounding villages. The Chief Imam of the Katari Central Mosque, Suleiman Mohammed, confirmed the Sunday attack and highlighted that the terrorists did not typically contact authorities for ransom in cases involving abducted travelers, emphasizing their modus operandi focused on individual homes.
