Tinubu is the Root of Nigeria’s Disorder- Aisha Yesufu

Renowned Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu, has recently accused President Bola Tinubu with accusations of being the primary source of the country’s ongoing turmoil.

Her remarks came in response to Tinubu’s cautioning that nullifying the presidential election due to his failure to secure 25% of the legally cast votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has the potential to “unleash absurdity, disorder, and lawlessness, and distort the original purpose of the legislature.”

Tinubu, addressing the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPEC), has asserted that the dual petitions filed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which call for the annulment of his presidential election win, are both unprecedented and inconsistent with the country’s electoral laws.

The President’s arguments were part of his final written address in response to the two petitions that are currently pending at the PEPEC.

In a Twitter post, Yesufu countered Tinubu’s caution, suggesting that the President himself is the central cause of disorder and lawlessness in Nigeria.
