Osun Governor accused of “Midnight Imposition of Monarch”, as Natives Kick!

Hostilities engulfed the ancient town of Ekosin, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State past Sunday over the alleged nocturnal imposition of an imposter traditional ruler. According to reports, some members of Nyanbilolu Ruling House stormed strategic parts of town settling tyres alight in protest

Members of the community who witnessed the incident revealed that they woke up to the protest over the presentation of the staff of office to Kasali Olagunju as the new Akosin of Ekosin by the Osun State Government some days ago. It was also reported Friday, that ruling houses in the town led by the Nyanbilolu Royal Family protested the alleged imposition of Kasali Olagunju as Akosin of Ekosin.

Kayode Asa who was the spokesperson for the ruling houses alleged that political office holders of the Ademola Adeleke administration had nocturnally appointed Olagunju as Akosin. The group accused the State Government of abuse of office, reiterating that the actions of the political office holders were sheer disobedience to the rule of law.

The newly crowned monarch, Olagunju, was also accused of not being a member of any of the ruling houses in the town but rather a fraudulent impostor

The ruling houses, through Asa, demanded, “That the Abere fake presentation of instruments of office to Kasali Olagunju should be withdrawn immediately.

“That the state government should respect the judiciary and allow the ongoing court process to run through as they had earlier promised us.

“That Kasali Olagunju should stop parading himself as Akosin of Ekosin and no privilege should be accorded to him in any form until the determination of the case in court.

“That Kasali Olagunju is not from the Nyanbilolu Ruling House or any other ruling house in Ekosin and should not be made the Akosin as that will lay a bad precedent for future generations.”
