The cobwebs of secrecy surrounding the death of the Nigerian rapper Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba a.k.a (Mohbad), may be revealed if the statement from the Nigeria Police is anything to go by. Friends and followers of the late music artiste have been crying foul, following the sudden death of the rapper, and even more alarming, his immediate internment
Mohbad was said to have died after receiving an injection from a yet to be identified nurse for an ear infection treatment he was receiving before his demise.
According to friends and family members, the late rapper was full of life, an easy going and a sociable individual. They are of the view that his death is questionable going by the circumstances surrounding his passing
Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, 27, passed away on Tuesday. He was laid to rest on Wednesday, according to Islamic rites, but is alleged not to be an adherent of the Arab religion
The police has however, announced a comprehensive investigation into Mohbad’s death on Thursday.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police spokesperson, in a chat with Daddy Freeze, a media personality, said the investigation will be initiated as ordered by the force PRO.
He said the police are open to exhuming Mohmad’s body for an autopsy if it becomes necessary in determining cause of death.
Hundeyin also urged anyone with information about Mohmad’s death to come forward and speak to the authorities.
“The force PRO issued a statement this evening (Thursday) saying that investigation will commence and that is what we are going to do,” he said.
“If need be, the body will be exhumed. It is not too late. The body can be exhumed and an autopsy can be performed.
“The statement also states that people should bring whatever information they have to the commissioner of police in Lagos state.
“That is because we do not want to do hierarchy anymore. Take it to Force CID, bring it to Lagos Command. It does not matter. We are going to harmonise it within ourselves and ensure that justice is done.”
The cause of Mohbad’s death is still unknown.
But Joseph Aloba, his father, revealed he died shortly after an auxiliary nurse administered an injection.
