“I Made Several Attempts to Get on Big Brother Before The Cook-a-thon” – Hilda Effiong Baci

Nigerian Chef and Current holder of the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking, Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has made a revelation on the number of times she auditioned for Big Brother before carrying out the Cook-a-thon.

The Nigerian chef who appeared as a guest on Cool FM Nigeria’s program, the Big Friday Show, hosted by reality star Tacha, revealed that she auditioned about four or five times to gain entry into the Big Brother show, but her attempts were unsuccessful.

Speaking on it, she said,

“I actually tried to get on Big Brother Naija for a while. I think I auditioned about four or five times. The plan for the cook-a-thon was still in the pipeline, so my goal was to go to Big Brother and then come out to do the cook-a-thon”.

Hilda Baci however proved that perseverance is one major factor to succeed in life, looking at how she went on to attempt a marathon cooking, setting a new record of 93 hours 11 minutes, after surpassing Indian chef Lata Tondon’s 87 hours, 45 minutes cooking marathon in 2023.

Ever since this remarkable feat with GWR, she has bagged several endorsement deals worth millions of Naira, coupled with reputable global recognition.
