Hunger in Akwa Ibom as Gov’t Mull over “State Bulk Purchasing Agency” to Quell Hardship, Bypass Middlemen 

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has taken proactive steps to alleviate the current hardships faced by residents by initiating measures to reduce the cost of essential food items within the state. He disclosed that the proposed establishment of the State Bulk Purchasing Agency, currently under review by the state House of Assembly, aims to ensure affordability of staple foods for the populace.

Highlighting the objectives of the proposed agency, Governor Eno emphasized its role in procuring food items in bulk and subsequently making them available to the public at more affordable rates.
