Edo State: National Division One Handball League Begins

BENIN CITY – The National Division One handball league, held in Benin City, Edo State, commenced during the weekend with great energy. The league which will run until July 28, 2023, has drawn teams from across Nigeria, that are eager to secure promotion to the prestigious top division.

Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Almu Umar Lambu, in a statement, said the participants have started jostling for points in the competition.

The competition is intense as teams in both the men’s and women’s categories battle it out for valuable points. The ultimate prize for the top two teams in each category is a promotion to the highly anticipated 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League.

As the league progresses, spectators and supporters eagerly cheer their favorite teams, adding to the electric atmosphere that surrounds the National Division One Handball League.

Stakeholders disclosed that the National Division One Handball League serves as a critical platform for identifying and nurturing talent, potentially unearthing future stars of Nigerian handball.
