Delta State’s Traditional Ruler Docked by Court

A traditional ruler (Ugoani) of Okpanam in Oshimili North Council, Michael Ogbolu, and another individual, Wisdom Meddon were docked Wednesday by the Federal High Court in Asaba, Delta State, for alleged forgery.

Recall that in December 2021, officers from the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Abuja, arrested the monarch due to a land dispute in a lawsuit filed under the case number FHC/ABS/168C/2022 by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), who was the complainant, and Dr. Mbanefo Michael Ogbolu and Wisdom Meddon, who were the defendants.

On or about March 27, 2022, in Okpanam, Delta State, under the jurisdiction of the honorable court, Dr. Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu and Wisdom Meddon conspired to commit a felony by forging a letter of instruction titled “letter of instruction to survey, facilitate registration, and fence the land, situated at Akwulor, Okpanam, measuring approximately 10.32 hectares.”

According to the defendants’ attorney, A.O. Odum, bail was requested after Ogbolu and Meddon entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.
