Burna Boy Ignites Anticipation with ‘Big 7’ Single, Teases with Upcoming Album

Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has unveiled his latest single, “Big 7,” paving the way for his seventh studio album, I Told Them… Slated for release on Aug. 24, the album is a product of Spaceship/Bad Habit/Atlantic Record.

The new single “Big 7” is accompanied by a vibrant music video shot in New York City, under the direction of renowned director Benny Boom. The video features notable appearances from industry giants like RZA, Busta Rhymes, Junior Mafia, and actor Shameik Moore.

In a statement, Burna Boy elucidated the symbolic significance of “Big 7.” He said, “The title embodies my aspiration to ascend to new heights in my musical journey, with the number seven representing harmonious and achievable growth.”

“Big 7” succeeds Burna Boy’s hit single “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” which saw collaboration with 21 Savage. He also recently partnered with Saint Kittian artist Byron Messia to release “Talibans II,” a rejuvenated rendition of Messia’s popular hit, “Talibans.”

Burna Boy’s previous album Love, Damini, launched last summer, boasted of collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Khalid, J Balvin, and others. Rolling Stone lauded the 19-track LP as “a deeply personal and compelling narrative of his trials, victories, and ambitions” and predicted that it would “usher Burna Boy’s eclectic range and philosophical anthems to a wider audience.”
