Nigerian and world record 100m hurdles title holder, Tobi Amusan has been tipped by fans in Budapest to emerge victorious in the semi-final of the 19th world athletics championship event.
The 26-year-old record-breaking athlete, after her impressive win on Tuesday, qualified for the semi-finals of the women’s 100m hurdles heat event.
In the fiercely contested heat at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary, Tobi Amusan ran a quick 12.48s (0.4) emerging victorious. As she is set to compete today in the semifinal of the women’s 100m hurdles, fans in Budapest are rooting for her to seal a win.
It is reported that daily, fans in their thousands, come out to the National Athletics Stadium in Budapest to cheer all the athletes.
The Nigerian star will compete against 2023 NCAA indoor and outdoor silver medalist, Masai Russell of the U.S., and Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent.
The final of the women’s 100m hurdles will take place on Thursday, 24th 2023.
