Agbor Monarch re-echoes Oluwo’s Call for Death Penalty on Public Office Looters, Ritual Killers

DELTA STATE- The Dein of Agbor, Ikechukwu Keagborekuzi I, has called for the death penalty for public office holders caught syphoning public funds, as their crimes inflict havoc on the masses

The young Monarch who inherited the throne at age 2, after the untimely death of his father, James Obika Ikechukwu, stated this to journalists recently

According to the Guardian, the Monach held a press conference recently whilst giving the advice. Dein Keagborekuzi who was frustrated by the needless sufferings of Nigerians, lamented the disdain exhibited by public office holders who boldly embezzle public funds with disregard knowing there will be no consequences

“We need to start thinking about death penalty for public officers in Africa, who are found guilty of embezzling public funds. They are of no use to us; the country has suffered enough”- Dein Keagborekuzi

Oluwo of Iwo, Adewale Rashid Akanbi

Recall that a first class traditional ruler from Osun State, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, had also called for the capital punishment for convicted corrupt officials and ritual killers, whilst speaking at the Annual Lecture and Award ceremony of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, CRAN, held in 2021
