Enugu Mburubu Community Installs Chief Onuokaibe as Igwe-elect

The inauguration of Chief Jerry Onuokaibe as the Igwe-elect of Mburubu community in Enugu State marked a significant moment for the inhabitants. With a turnout of over 5000 residents from the community’s five villages, the event at Mburubu Primary School was a testament to the unity and support behind Chief Onuokaibe’s leadership.

Selected unanimously in December 2023, following in the footsteps of his predecessor, Late Igwe Emmanuel Muonyelu Ogbuzulu, Chief Onuokaibe’s acceptance of the role symbolized a new chapter for Mburubu.

The ceremony, steeped in tradition and prayers, emphasized the community’s faith in Chief Onuokaibe’s ability to lead them towards progress and development. Leaders and representatives from various segments of Mburubu society, including Chief Okonkwo Evu, Chijioke Nwachukwu, Chief Sylvanus Njoku, and Anthonia Chukwu, were present to grace the occasion. Their collective endorsement hopefully signals the anticipation and hope for positive change under Chief Onuokaibe’s stewardship.

Chief Onuokaibe’s ascension to the throne heralded optimism for Mburubu’s future, with expectations of an end to issues such as abuse and maltreatment within the community. As the community embarks on this new chapter, the inauguration ceremony represented not just a formal induction but also a collective affirmation of commitment to the advancement of Mburubu and its people.
