Rivers State: Unidentified Criminals Assassinate Anwunugbokor Monarch in Cold-Blood

In a tragic incident, unidentified assailants have taken the life of Chief Innocent Ekwereogwu, the paramount ruler of Anwunugbokor, a community situated in Ahaoda West Local Government Area of Rivers State. Chief Ekwereogwu, who also held the position of chairman of the Ubie Council of Chiefs, met his demise in his residence at Odiemerenyi in Ahaoda East during the early hours of Tuesday.

The assailants, shrouded in anonymity, carried out the fatal attack at 12:16 am, invading Chief Ekwereogwu’s residence. The ruthless act resulted in the tragic loss of the traditional leader’s life. The community is now grappling with the repercussions of this heinous crime.

Presently, Chief Ekwereogwu’s body has been moved to the mortuary, as the local community mourns the untimely demise of a figurehead. Despite the gravity of the situation, the Rivers State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident, leaving the community and the public awaiting further details and developments in this distressing matter.
