Nigerian superstar Musician and Mavin signee, Rema, has been nominated for three awards at the 2023 Video Music Awards (VMAs). Rema was nominated for three award categories, which include – Best Collaboration, Song of the Year, and Best Afrobeats category.
He is followed closely by his fellow Mavin’s act Ayra Starr, who snagged two nominations in the Best Afrobeats category. Also, Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake, Fireboy DML, Libianca, and Musa Keys each secured a nomination in the Best Afrobeats category.
On the global scene, Taylor Swift and SZA take the lead with a staggering eight and six nominations, respectively. These powerhouse artists have left their mark across multiple categories.
The ceremony will take place on September 12 at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey.
