Several Nigerians have expressed concern over the plan of the Lagos state government suspicious move, to perform a nine (9) days traditional rite of Ojo town Oro festival.
In a circular seen by ioi news, the festival will hold for two weeks which is from the 8th of August on Tuesday, to the 15th of August. The letter stated that the move is made to appease the gods of the land for prosperity and peaceful coexistence in the town and its environs.
Netizens have expressed concerns, stating the APC led government is planning to execute something sinister.
Several of them are of the opinion that the move is to avert any protest that might ensue when the election petition tribunal will announce the result of the 2023 presidential election.
A Twitter user @CyndiGold2 wrote,
“I grew up in Oyo state where they worship and observe and worship different deities yet av never had of 2 weeks for Oro festival. They’re definitely cooking something! Remember during Gov. election in Lagos with same Oro! Same Script.”
This is not the first time the Lagos State Government will execute such gimmicks, in a bid to pertuate their dastardly act, as it was seen during the 2023 governorship and house of assembly elections inLagos state.
