Peter Obi, Yoruba Monarch Eulogise Baci Effiong After Guinness World Record Feat!

LAGOS- Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has received the Guinness world record award for the world’s longest cooking Marathon by an individual.

The 26-year-old Nigerian chef was awarded the record, after Guinness World Record body carefully reviewed her attempt for the longest cooking marathon.

Baci reportedly cooked for four days, starting May 11 through to Monday 15, with over 100 pots of food prepared and majority of the delicacies Nigerian cuisines with several other foreign delights

The cooking marathon demanded stringent rules from the world body and Hilda fulfilled all of the rules, however, there was a miscalculation with her rest breaks which saw GWR unable to award the full100 hours claimed

She was however given the award for the longest cooking Marathon with 93 hours and 11 minutes. Her record saw her smash the former longest-cooking marathon record of 87 hours 45 minutes set in 2019  India by Indian Chef Lata Tondon

Eminent personalities like Presidencial candidate of the Labour Party Mr Peter Obi and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, amongst others, were on hand to congratulate and eulogise the Akwa Ibom chef for making Nigeria and Africa proud.

The revered Yoruba Monarch who shared an image of Baci Effiong, wrote:

What she demonstrated to our nation and every young person out there isn’t the glitz or reward system of breaking the Guinness World Record for “longest cooking time,” but the inexhaustible perseverance that every woman possesses.

Every little girl in all our communities and local governments, like Hilda Bassey Effiong, deserves a chance to show the world her capacity to wrap us in her spirit of excellence. HE Peter Obi, in a tweet addressed to Hilda Baci’s official Twitter handle, @hildabacicooks, expressed admiration for Baci’s determination and success, stating:

“Congratulations to you Hilda Baci @hildabacicooks on breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by an individual. You believed in your vision, you persevered till the end, and you have now carved your name in the golden books of history and have brought great honor to our nation.”
