In recognition of the significant contributions made by individuals to the progress of Osoro Kingdom, Oba Shadrack Gbadebo Bajowa marked his 46th coronation anniversary by conferring traditional titles upon Arch. Kashimawo Olafioye and his wife, Princess Omolara.
The royal honors, Legiri of Osooro Kingdom for Kashimawo Olafioye and Yeye Legiri of Osooro Kingdom for Princess Omolara, were bestowed upon the couple during a ceremony held at the monarch’s palace on Saturday.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Gbadebo Bajowa, praised the couple for their substantial contributions to the development of the kingdom, expressing gratitude for their dedicated efforts. In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Legiri of Osooro Kingdom, Arch. Kashimawo Olafioye, born in Igbotako and currently residing in the United Kingdom, conveyed his appreciation for the esteemed traditional titles conferred upon him and his wife.
He acknowledged the significance of the monarch’s gesture, stating that it would inspire them to further promote the kingdom across various domains.
The United Kingdom-based architect expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the honor bestowed by the traditional ruler. He articulated his commitment, spurred by this recognition, to intensify efforts alongside his wife for the betterment of their homeland.
Arch. Kashimawo Olafioye also took the opportunity to appeal to fellow sons and daughters of Osooro Land globally, urging them to contribute to the kingdom’s welfare.
Princess Omolara Olafioye, in her response, viewed the conferred honor as a divine call to duty. Acknowledging the significance of the traditional titles, she expressed sincere appreciation to the Royal Father for the prestigious recognition bestowed upon her and her husband. Princess Omolara affirmed their dedication to furthering the development of Osooro Kingdom in light of this honor.
Additionally, the couple’s commitment to community development was exemplified by the inauguration of a borehole project earlier sponsored by them. This initiative aims to provide potable water for the residents, further highlighting the tangible impact of their contributions to the welfare of the community.
