Kidnappers Bewitch Prominent Anambra Spiritual Healer; Police Dismiss Rumors of His Mystical Escape

A renowned spiritual practitioner from Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chinedu Nwangwu, often referred to as Akwa okuko tiwara aki (an egg that breaks palm nut), was reportedly kidnapped from his hotel on Sunday night.

Nwangwu, who is reputed as one of Anambra’s most powerful spiritual healers, was reportedly abducted from one of his three establishments, the Triple P Hotel, in an unsettlingly effortless manner. The incident caught many off guard, considering his reputation for allegedly possessing the power to vanish at will, a skill that ironically failed him at the crucial moment.

In the course of the abduction, two of Nwangwu’s assistants were reportedly killed near the hotel. The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating it occurred around 11:30 pm.

Anambra’s Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has since ordered law enforcement agents to pursue the kidnappers and ensure Nwangwu’s safe return.

Following the incident, rumors began to circulate on social media suggesting that Nwangwu had returned home after transforming into a lion and frightening his captors. Yet, the Anambra State Police Command has refuted these claims, emphasizing that their efforts to secure his release are ongoing, and they have received no confirmation of his return.

“We have no such information at this time,” stated the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Toochukwu Ikenga.

The incident has stirred up a plethora of reactions on social media, with some mocking the spiritual healer for getting kidnapped despite his alleged mystical prowess. Others, presumably his followers, have been sharing old videos claiming that he had transformed into a lion and scared off his abductors.
