Wizkid recounted how he started from nothing, attributing his success to persistent hard work and the refusal to accept instant gratification. He expressed his pride in his origins, saying that his music often reflects his experiences.

He stated, “The journey from nothing to what I am today wasn’t an overnight success. It was a result of relentless hustle. I often weave this narrative into my music as a reminder of where I come from. For instance, when you listen to the track No Lele, it hints at Ojuelegba Shitta, my hometown. So, whenever and wherever people hear that, they instantly recognize it as Nigerian, as a representation of Lagos. I am proud to represent my neighborhood and my country in this way.”
