Ewu Monarch Saddened by Okuama Okoloba Tragedy, calls for Urgent Resolution

The traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom in Delta State, Clement Ikolo has expressed his displeasure regarding the persistent crisis between neighboring Okuama and Okoloba communities during a dialogue with journalists at his palace in Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom. Despite being abroad when the conflict initially arose, Ikolo revealed that he had contacted the state government, which assured him of resolving the issue. However, he lamented the tragic turn of events, noting the need for effective measures to prevent such violence.

Ikolo conveyed his deep sadness over the loss of lives, particularly the soldiers who were killed while allegedly attempting to restore peace between the warring factions. He condemned the violence

The traditional ruler called for collective condemnation of the violence and urged for measures to ensure the safety of those tasked with maintaining peace in volatile areas.

Reports indicated that 16 Nigerian soldiers lost their lives during the clashes, but strangely enough, no mention of innocent villagers killed by soldiers, as at presstime
