Delta Monarch Calls for Police Area Command in Uvwie as Insecurity Worsens

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in Delta State, Emmanuel Sideso, has advocated for the establishment of a police area command in Uvwie, emphasizing its significance as the state’s foremost cosmopolitan and industrial center. Speaking during a courtesy visit from Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, the wife of the Inspector General of Police, the monarch stressed the inseparable link between peace, security, and development, underscoring the critical role of law enforcement in fostering societal progress.

While noting the proactive measures already in place, the traditional ruler noted the establishment of a security committee comprising representatives from diverse ethnic backgrounds. While acknowledging the efficacy of these initiatives in maintaining stability, he emphasized the potential benefits of a dedicated police command, expressing confidence that it would further enhance security efforts in the region.

Assuring Mrs. Egbetokun of continued support for the success of the Inspector General of Police in his mandate to uphold peace nationwide, the Ovie of Uvwie noted the collective responsibility in safeguarding communal harmony and prosperity.
