“Nigerians Don’t Care About Politics” – Grammy Star Wizkid Reveals Why he Rarely Makes Political Comments

Nigerian Grammy star Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, in a recent interview with Evening Standard UK revealed why he rarely makes comments about Nigerian  politics in his music and interviews

According to him, Nigerians don’t care about politics, stating that they only care about how to make ends meet.

While Wizkid claims about Nigerian masses apathy in the political affairs of the country is somewhat true, however, there was a shift in the level of participation from Nigerians, especially the youths in the 2023 General Election.

Over 42 million youths were reported to have registered to vote which saw them come out en masse, unfortunately, the election was flawed by INEC with electoral malpractices

The sheer enthusiasm displayed by the masses majorly the youths, as evident during the voting process in Nigeria’s 2023 election, suggests that the trajectory of political apathy in the country may have likely changed.
