Bauchi Monarch Assassinated after Gruesome Kidnapping

The tranquil village of Riruwai in Lame District, nestled within Bauchi Emirate’s Toro LGA, was plunged into grief as news surfaced of the tragic demise of its esteemed village head, Alhaji Garba Badamasi. The somber event unfolded amidst a brazen attack by unidentified gunmen who descended upon the community on Friday, March 15th.

In a harrowing display of violence, the assailants targeted the monarch, instilling fear among locals as they unleashed a barrage of indiscriminate gunfire before abducting Badamasi from his palace.

Amidst the chaos that ensued, community stakeholders rallied to locate the abducted leader, launching a desperate search effort that tragically concluded with the discovery of Badamasi’s lifeless body in close proximity to the village. The sorrowful procession that followed saw his remains tenderly transported to the palace of the District Head of Lame in Gumau, where mourners gathered on Sunday, March 17th, to pay their final respects and offer funeral prayers in accordance with Islamic customs.

Details emerged revealing the grim circumstances of Badamasi’s captivity, with reports indicating that he endured a solitary day in the clutches of his abductors before meeting a cruel fate at their hands.
