Traumatized Bayelsa Women Protest Fulani Herders Invasion, Destruction of Farmlands

In the Zarama axis of the East-West road in Bayelsa State, traumatized women have taken to the streets once again to protest against the continued criminal destruction of their farmlands by Fulani herders. The seazeless invasions by nomadic herders have prompting these women to demand urgent action from authorities to address their plight.

For months, the women of Bayelsa State have endured the devastating consequences of their farmlands being ravaged by cattle belonging to Fulani herders. Despite repeated pleas for assistance, the situation has only worsened, leaving them with damaged crops and a bleak outlook for their livelihoods.

The protests, characterized by chants and placards condemning the encroachment on their lands, have garnered attention both locally and nationally. The women are demanding that the government intervene to provide adequate protection for their farmlands and ensure that those responsible for the destruction are held accountable.
