South East: Igbo Tycoons Rally Behind Southeast Peace Initiative with Impressive Financial Backing

In a commendable display of support for regional peace initiatives, several affluent individuals of Igbo descent, including Chief Emeka Offor and billionaire businessman Arthur Eze, have thrown their financial weight behind the Peace in South East Project (PISE-P).

This collaborative effort, championed by the National Assembly members from the Southeast and spearheaded by Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, aims to address the intricate socio-economic challenges and security issues prevalent in the region over a comprehensive five-year period.

Chief Emeka Offor, recognizing the importance of non-kinetic measures, praised the initiative during a courtesy visit by a PISE-P delegation, highlighting its focus on eight cardinal pillars encompassing education, agriculture, commerce/industry, infrastructural development, culture and tourism, sports/entertainment, governance/leadership, and reconciliation/rehabilitation/reintegration.

In a tangible demonstration of commitment, Offor generously contributed millions of naira to bolster the project, urging other prominent Igbo individuals and Nigerians at large to support this transformative endeavour.

Likewise, Chief Arthur Eze affirmed his dedication to the cause, solidifying his promise to allocate substantial funds to the PISE-P. Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu, a key advocate for the initiative, has been instrumental in garnering support, recently briefing Chief Arthur Eze and securing a significant financial commitment.

The official unveiling of PISE-P is scheduled for December 29, 2023, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, marking a pivotal moment in the concerted effort to foster lasting peace and development in the Southeast region of Nigeria.
