Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate in the recent presidential election on February 25th, has expressed his admiration for the Super Falcons’ impressive performance, despite their loss in the penalty shootout against England in the FIFA Women’s World Cup last 16. The former Governor of Anambra State emphasized that the nation is proud of the team.

Obi also celebrated the outstanding achievement of the Nigerian Women’s Basketball team, D’Tigress, who clinched the FIBA Women’s Afrobasket championship for the fourth time in a row. He singled out Rena Wakama, who etched her name in the annals of history as the first woman coach to secure the championship since its inception in 1966.

Obi took to his Twitter account to share his congratulatory messages. He expressed his pride in D’Tigress’ continued success and lauded their dedication and years of training that led to their victory. He also praised Wakama’s historic achievement.

Similarly, he applauded the Super Falcons for their commendable performance in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, despite their knockout. He acknowledged their spirited fight against England and reassured them of the nation’s pride in their efforts.
