Renowned lawyer, Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, representing the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has revealed that the Labour Party received the CCT (Certified Copy of Tabulation) of the presidential election results from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). From this, they discovered 8,123 instances of unclear results. He pointed out that some entries were totally empty, while others contained irrelevant pictures of individuals and buildings.
Highlighting the significant implications of these findings, Uzoukwu expressed concern over INEC’s inability to properly upload the election results. He questioned why such a public organization would upload a certified blank document, presenting it as a certified polling unit result.
Uzoukwu shared these revelations with the press following recent court proceedings. He stated, “We received the CCT of the election results from INEC, and from this, we found 8,123 unclear results. Some were completely empty, others contained pictures of people, and others were results that were not meant for polling units, such as ward results, local government collation results, and so on.”
Furthermore, Uzoukwu urged INEC to stop treating Nigerians with disregard, describing INEC’s actions as regrettable.
This update comes amidst the ongoing legal battle between the Labour Party, its presidential candidate Peter Obi, and the APC’s candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Labour Party is challenging the legitimacy of the election, alleging it was fraught with irregularities and vote-rigging. Nigerians are keenly watching as the drama unfolds.
