The Director General of Good Governance Institute (GGI) and a leader of the Obidient Movement, Marcel Ngogbehei, has urged the court to declare Peter Obi the winner of Nigeria’s 2023 Presidential Election. Ngogbehei, referencing evidence presented at the Presidential Election Tribunal, called for a fresh compilation of election results and the withdrawal of the certificate of return issued to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Tinubu. He emphasized the importance of upholding the people’s right to choose their leaders and avoiding further wastage of resources.
Ngogbehei highlighted the significance of the court’s decision, stating that the entire world is closely observing the proceedings in Nigeria and gathering digital evidence. He urged the courts to consider the clear evidence and the European Union Election report, which supports the need for a rightful winner to be declared. Ngogbehei emphasized the importance of protecting democracy and avoiding unnecessary spending, as billions of taxpayer and international funds were already allocated to the 2023 elections.
Ngogbehei called on the Nigerian courts to take a bold step, uphold the people’s vote, and declare Peter Obi the winner of the presidential election. He stressed the need to hold the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) accountable and move forward in order to address Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit and focus on the country’s progress.
