Osun Monarch calls for Border Reopening with Benin Republic

Oba Hameed Oyelude, Olowu of Kuta in Osun’s Ayedire Local Government, has called on the Federal Government to reopen the country’s border with the Benin Republic to alleviate poverty.

Oba Oyelude, who requested a discussion with journalists on Sunday at his palace in Kuta, said reopening the border would alleviate Nigerians’ economic burden. “At the time the Benin Republic border was closed, the federal government was defending the country’s economy. But I want to encourage the FG to consider reopening the border to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians,” he said.
