In a shocking incident, Ondo state police command have apprehended Muhammed Musa, a 30-year-old laborer, over his alleged involvement in the savage murder of Pastor Dada Itopa, a local farmer. The gruesome act took place on Pastor Itopa’s farmland in Ipele, a region within the Owo local government area of Ondo State. Although one suspect is in custody, two accomplices are still at large. The late pastor’s wife, who was also a victim in the horrifying assault, is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility.
The incident took place in Owo, Ondo state, where Musa confessed to having committed the heinous crime. He revealed that the act was a result of a herbalist’s demand for a human head. The Vanguard reported on Monday, August 14, that Pastor Itopa’s wife, Bose Dada, was also injured in the brutal attack.
The suspect, along with another laborer, betrayed the unsuspecting couple as they were preparing to commence work on their farm. Musa deceived the pastor by requesting his machete under the pretense that it was sharper than the ones they had.
Unaware of the impending danger, Pastor Itopa handed over the machete to Musa. In a horrifying turn of events, Musa attacked the pastor with the machete and murdered him in front of his wife. Mrs. Dada managed to flee the scene with multiple injuries and is currently admitted at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owo for treatment.
