“Na War we Won Enter Like This”: Burna Boy Reacts to Tinubu’s Plan to Mobilise Troops to Niger

Nigerian Grammy award winner, Burna Boy has reacted to reports of Nigeria’s government’s plan to mobilize troops to the Niger Republic, following the recent coup and hostage of the country’s president Mohammed Bazoum.

In reaction to the reports, Burna Boy via a short video, shared his opinion on the issue, using pidgin English.

He said,

“They say na war we won enter like this o. Fuel never dey you won go fight war. How you won reach the battlefield? You go use gas generator”.

Recall that five days ago, President Bola Tinubu briefed the National Assembly on ECOWAS’ proposed military action and other penalties against the coup plotters in the Niger Republic

This was contained in a formal letter to the Senate and read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

During a meeting last Sunday, when sanctions were slammed on the coup plotters, West African leaders gave the military junta one week to give up power or face possible military intervention.

Meanwhile, political, religious, and business leaders across different strata of the society, have urged President Tinubu to shun military intervention and explore more diplomatic options to ECOWAS’ attempt to restore the ousted democratically-elected government of Mohamed Bazoum.
