Two traditional rulers in Ekiti State were tragically killed by suspected Fulani terrorists along the Oke-ako road in Ikole Local Government Area, Ekiti State. The monarchs were returning from a security meeting at Irele-Ekiti when the attack occurred, leaving one monarch fortunate enough to escape.

The Ekiti State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Sunday Abutu, promised to provide further details on the incident.

In response to the disturbing incident, Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi called upon Bola Tinubu to address the escalating security crisis in the nation. Obi, a former Anambra State governor, urged Tinubu to confront the security challenges, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

Expressing grief over the demise of the Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Obi noted the gravity of the security threat facing Nigeria. He urged Tinubu to prioritize the nation’s security concerns and work towards averting further tragedies.

“We are saddened by the report that Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti were murdered earlier today, cause of death: Insecurity and Tinubu.

“We call on Tinubu to wake up from his sleeping bed and save Nigeria from total collapse. Don’t speak up today, tomorrow, insecurity might consume you or a loved one.” he wrote.
