Enyimba chairman Kanu Nwakwo has lauded the performance of the players despite their defeat to Al Ahly Benghazi at the opening fixtures of the CAF champions league.
The people’s elephant were cruising to a 3-3 draw, after a late goal from Al Ahly’s player Hamadi Gadallah’s sealed the victory for the Lassaad Dridi’s men.
Commenting on the game, Kanu Nwankwo said;
“Our boys gave their all on the pitch today. They faced a formidable team and fought with determination and heart. The result might not have gone our way, but what matters is the effort and resilience shown by the boys. They did well and I commend them”.
Enyimba will be looking to seal a victory in the return leg in Aba, which will take place on Sunday, August 27, at 3. pm local time.
