Unknown gunmen on Thursday night launched a fatal attack on the palace of Olukoro of Koro in Kwara State, resulting in the tragic death of the traditional ruler, General Segun Aremu (rtd). The assailants also abducted the monarch’s wife along with two other individuals during the night raid in Ekiti local government area.
Details surrounding the incident remain limited at this time, but the Kwara State government has officially confirmed the monarch’s demise and the abduction of his wife and two others. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has condemned the barbaric act, denouncing it as reckless, shocking, and utterly abominable.
