Rivers State: Governor Fubara Calls for Ethical, Exemplary Leadership amongst Monarchs 

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, emphasized the importance of integrity among traditional rulers during the 115 and 116 combined Quarterly General Meeting of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers. He urged them to maintain neutrality, speak truth to power, and safeguard their moral authority.

Governor Fubara, addressing the monarchs, pledged to protect the mandate bestowed upon him by the people of Rivers State and called for their courage in addressing the challenges faced by the youth, particularly those in rural communities.

During the meeting in Port Harcourt, the governor expressed concern for the well-being of neglected youths in rural areas and highlighted the vital role of peace and security in societal progress. He asserted his unwavering commitment to serving the state with humility, sincerity, and accountability, despite potential sabotage attempts.

Governor Fubara announced his intent to prioritize education, healthcare, and social services in the 2024 state budget, ensuring universal access to quality services, with a focus on youth development through skills training and entrepreneurship initiatives.

The Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Ohna Sergeant Awuse, affirmed the council’s staunch support for Governor Fubara’s administration, recognizing his leadership capabilities. He urged troublemakers to cease discordant actions, allowing the governor to fulfill his elected duties.

Additionally, Rivers State Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Charles Amadi, emphasized the ongoing collaboration between his ministry and the council in promoting peace-building efforts within their domains.
