PORT HARCOUT- Police in Rivers State have reportedly arrested twelve internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys, for allegedly burying a newborn baby alive.
The Chairman of PLGA security watch Victor Ohaji, said he got information that some Yahoo boys were performing incantation at the waterfront on Wednesday.
On receiving this information he mobilized his men as they swung into action to the said location. On getting there, the boys had already left the location.
After close observation of the area, they discovered that something was buried at the waterfront. In a bid to find out what was there, they exhumed a newborn baby boy who was reported to be buried by the fraudsters.
This prompted them to alert the Rivers State Neighbourhood and the Station Officer of the Police Post at Eagle Island who informed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Azikiwe Police Division.
The PLGA Security Watch, Rivers State Neighbourhood, and the police then mobilised and went in search of the suspects.
He said while they were combing Eagle Island, the suspects who were coming out from one hotel saw them and ran in different directions, and 12 of them were apprehended and taken to Azikiwe Police Division in Port Harcourt.
