Past Sunday, Vice President Shettima claimed that military offensives alone were unable to permanently end the security problem in the North-West, proposing instead a combination of kinetic and non-kinetic tactics for restoration of peace in the tense area.
Shetimma also informed Nigerians about his kinetic plans when he visited the families of the Galadanci and Mangal in Kano and Katsina. According to Shettima, “There cannot be a military solution to the issue in the North-West unless we choose to wage an eternal battle of attrition”
The vice president stated that the Tinubu administration would announce a program in the upcoming weeks.to address poverty and insurgency, among other pressing issues affecting Nigerians, particularly those in the north,
Meanwhile, the unconfirmed reports of Shettima’s involvement with Bokoharam and the deafening silence of the FG on the over 400 bokoharam sponsors indicted by authorities in Dubai, heightens the fear for Nigerians both home and abroad who consider it a matter of national security to have the Tinubu/ Shetimma administeration sacked
