Cross River State: Tragedy Unfolds as Gunmen Abduct Monarch, Kill Aide

In a distressing incident on Sunday night, unidentified gunmen executed the abduction of Etiyin Maurice Edet, the traditional ruler of Akpabuyo local government area in Cross River State. Tragically, the assailants also claimed the life of the monarch’s aide during the assault within the confines of the palace.

Confirmation of the incident came from Irene Ugbo, the spokesperson for the state police command, on Monday. Despite the acknowledgment, the spokesperson noted that comprehensive details surrounding the abhorrent occurrence remained elusive at that time.
